NA SERVER CHANNEL

Hi Guys.

Just a quick note to say that I have started to venture into the NA server.
As such I have set up a channel there for anyone else that may feel the need to venture over there.

Taskforce44-NA, just to keep it relevent.

Am finding the ping to be slightly better for me than to SEA. But this may not be the case for everyone....trial and error i guess.

The main reason behind this is to test whether MM, hit detection etc, vary at all between servers. Because(and dare say Bundy and Mogs will testify to this after yesterday) ours has been pretty bloody ordinary in that regard.

For those that wish to try, It means you have to start from scratch....AND you have to download the entire NA game. For some reason the NA client is slightly out of sync version wise with SEA and the mod in Aslains pack will no longer work(to NA at least, have not tried the others).

For those who can be bothered going through the hassle of it all there is a code to ease the pain somewhat.

This will get you 3 days premium time, 500 doubloons and the Diana premium cruiser, for starting a new account.(can be used on SEA to if you wanted an ALT acct, which I have done also)

I will still be active on SEA, but you may not get as many matches out of me as you were..... :face:

Guys, I have found the NA server to be far superior in every ascpect,
Ping is constant 103 with spikes up to 108
Gameplay is so much better, they actually work together so games are much more enjoyable and intense.
Because of the lack of Lag, my hit % is 37% instaed of 25%,
The shells go where I aim.
I wont be playing on SEA server anymore.... The rage has gone

I will call in form time to time but wont be playing on SEA anymore
Thanks to everyone who shared the experience and a big thanks to Dan for providing such a haven from the insanity that is SEA

I thought you could only be on one server or the other, if I want to join the NA Server do I need to make a new profile, download the game again etc?

Yeah just follow the steps I listed above and you should be fine.

Just word on when your going to download....do not click on the "play for free" tab, as this auto-redirects you to your local server(in our case SEA).

I missed it the first time round and could not figure out why I could not access the NA server after downloading the "NA server"............

I’m re-DLing the NA client now. I’ve been meaning to try out the Russian DD line anyway, and this’ll give me time and port-space to do it.

(FWIW: my NA profile-name is the same as here on the TF44 forums.)

I've been using these commands in the scripts_config.xml file in the Res fold inside WOS - make a back up first of course - only delay is when updates come through - just have to wait till the other server is updated as well

There should be an option to turn on HTML in posts, Ill check from admin panel to see if that is enabled.

All sounds like a tremendous headache guys. I have a lot of friends on NA server too guys, both from this game and War at Sea, but once Id made Taskforce44 (a club for English speaking players on the Asia Server) it seemed wrong to go to NA. Just speaking from my point of view.

We provide a resource that is needed on the Asia Server, and over time I hope to make it a central hub for ANZAC players.

You will always have a home here guys, have fun.

(Edit - HTML function was already enabled, you should have this option if you do a full reply, not just a quick reply, there is also an option for code located in your text box tools. When you make a Full Reply and scroll down beneath the Text Box, you will find "Disallow HTML in Post", this option is automatically checked, simply un-check it to allow HTML)

I have been talking with Coldbeer this morning on us opening up Taskforce44 NA Sub-branch, for all our NA Server members, this will still remain as the Taskforce44 HQ Fleet Command Centre and all new members from the NA Sub-branch should be directed to here.

The chat channels of course will be different as Coldbeer has stipulated above. A new poster will go up later today to provide this NA Sub-branch chat channel, as well as the Asia Server chat channel.

TeamSpeak will remain under the control of Kaminari, who may now want to add a Taskforce44 NA channel for those guys to utilize. I will talk to him as soon as I am able in relation to this.

For my part, I will remain on the Asia Server, for our Asia Server members, to continue to provide a meeting place for all ANZAC English Speaking players to join and utilize.

I am fully behind the possibility of a Taskforce44 NA Server Sub-branch and will provide whatever assistance I can. The possibilities for inter-branch competitions alone will be heaps of fun.
